red hat society
Michaelin Otis and Deborah Voyda Rogers were co-owners of Avalon Arts, their gallery, and teaching studio, for 18 years. Both are professional artists and workshop leaders. Painting in the same studio has inspired their individual creativity. When Michaelin moved to Arizona, they closed the gallery, but continue to teach and travel between Minnesota and Arizona. They both teach at trade shows around the country, as well as workshops. Deborah and Michaelin are repesented by Manos Gallery, Tubac, AZ, Uptown Images, White Bear Lake, MN and Richeson Gallery and School of Art, Kimberly, WI. Commissions are welcome. Portraits of both people and animals are their speciality.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT—Wether painting a person, animal or an intimate landscape our goal is to make a connection with our subject and convey that connection to the viewer. Spontaneity and rich color possibilities along with large abstract shapes are used to grab attention and lead the viewer through the painting.
